Our Foundation
We founded Shift Sisters and the Safe Shift Foundation to protect the women who power our hospitality industry. Our mission is to foster community support and hold companies accountable for workplace safety, ensuring that every woman has the resources and voice she deserves. While our movement was created with women in mind, it does not negate that men can also feel free to speak up here. Men do not report the abuse to their companies often because of the culture the companies have created, and we are creating a space for all. We are aware that people across the LQBTQ+ community have been significantly impacted. Abuse in the workplace includes transphobia, homophobia, and racism. This is not just about SA, even though this is the core of our movement. We want ALL women, men, and non-binary hospitality staff members to call for change.
Anonymity Rooted in Safety
A Collective Voice
Shift Sisters is led by a collective of hospitality workers and survivors. By choosing anonymity, we protect our members and ensure that the focus remains entirely on our shared mission.
Safety First
Operating anonymously allows us to advocate fearlessly for workplace safety and systemic change without fear of retribution, keeping the priority where it belongs: on the movement. Although we hope to share our faces one day.
Mission Centered
We are a foundation built on lived experience. By removing personal identifiers, we represent the thousands of voices in the industry calling for accountability and dignity.
